Community Circle for Collective Care on Tuesday September 17th

$35.00

Please join us for The Meadow’s second Council Circle for Collective Care. Council Circle is a safe and contained structure for people to speak and listen from the heart and from a place of personal truth. Each circle will be focused on an emergent theme and will contain opportunities for meditation, reflection, and restoration. The September council will be led by esteemed Palestinian elders Itaf and Nawal Awad. These two teachers are currently visiting Brooklyn from Haifa. The circle will also include a heart-opening sound bath by Miriam Hamisa for deep physical and spiritual rest.

Here's a bit more about our facilitators:

Itaf Awad
is an international trainer and leader in the Way of Council and Capacitar, two modalities that enhance individual and collective well-being which originated in California.  Itaf has a Masters degree in Political Science, and for the past 20 years has facilitated hundreds of councils for businesses, NGO’s, educators, and private groups in many places from the Middle East, Europe and the United States.  Itaf is carrying the Way of Council and Capacitar to Arab communities, including translation of the book"Way Of Council" into the Arabic language.

Nawal Awad is a therapist in Chinese and Palestinian folk medicine, specializing in fertility with more than 22 years of experience. She runs a private clinic, works in Rambam Hospital, in the Cancer Department and is active in Acupuncture Without Borders. She practices healing the relationship between the soul and the body to relieve stress, improve well-being and freedom from physical and emotional trauma. She is a council facilitator and trainer on the path, working in partnership with Itaf Awad. For over 12 years, doing workshops for different age groups, students, and elders.

Miriam Hamisa's sound baths draw on a liturgical fluency from her traditional Jewish origins through prisms of curiosity, pleasure, and imagination, embracing this liturgy within the feminine and within the femme body. Woven of her voice, crystal singing bowls, and other instruments, Miriam’s sound baths invite the listener into the embrace of a soothing vibrational fabric, where they can experience deep physical and spiritual rest.

Our circle will take place Tuesday, September 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. All proceeds will go to Itaf and Nawal so they can continue their peacemaking work in the world.
