Council Circle in COVID Times
Today people from around the world gathered to begin Council Circle training. This was the first time anyone in the world has offered Council Circle training online.
While it was a shame we couldn't meet in person, Zoom allowed for a really international mix of people. Members of the circle hailed from Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Latvia, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Germany, and the United States.
Council Circle is a communication tool used in many Indigenous communities throughout the world. It encourages a kind of heartfelt expression and authentic listening that fosters compassion and understanding. For this reason, Council Circle has become an integral part of conflict resolution and restorative justice processes.
